This is a beast of an easel - a real statement piece. Reputedly from the National Gallery, this would explain the black paint to the frame. All the mechanisms - height and tilt adjustment - are full working. All joints are solid. Original wheels in place.

Anyone of a certain age will remember the late great Tommy Cooper with enormous fondness. Wearing his trademark red Fez - strictly speaking a Tarboosh - his act was a unique blend of silly comedy and magic, usually in the form of carefully choreographed failures which suckered the audience into his routine.

His enduring catchphrase, "Just like that', became universally known and widely imitated at the height of his popularity in the 1970s. Ironically his death during a live TV broadcast in April 1984 was the final curtain call for this towering figure

Evoking the Soviet propaganda posters of the Cold War era, a painting of Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman to fly in space. Launching on 16 June 1963 she orbited the Earth forty-eight times over three days in the Vostok 6 spacecraft. Tereshkova is also the only woman to fly solo in space.
